The investigation into a fatal shooting last week is continuing, according to Romulus police.
Police are seeking four individuals in connection with a fatal shooting that took place at about 11 p.m. Aug. 23 near the Top Shelf party store at the corner of Eureka and Inkster roads. Officers were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call in which the caller said a man had been shot several times, according to police reports. When officers arrived at the parking lot of the party store, they found the body of a 28-year-old Detroit man who had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Witness accounts indicated that the shooting was motivated by a robbery committed by the victim, later identified as Chrevon Rayman Lawrence. Witnesses claimed that Lawrence was shot by a man he and two other men had robbed at gunpoint. The robbery victim then pulled a firearm and fatally shot Lawrence. Police said that a gun was recovered at the scene, near Lawrence's body.
Romulus police said they are actively seeking 22-year-old Tenaje Gaiter; 26-year-old Joseph Mile; 24-year-old Lajon Washington and another, unknown man in connection to the shooting.
Police said that Washington was driving a gray 2015 Ford Fusion with Michigan license plate 463354D. The car has a moon roof and black rims, witnesses told police. Gaiter and the unknown man left the scene in a dark-colored Jeep, possibly a Liberty, according to police reports.
Police have asked anyone with information about the shooting or any of the individuals being sought to call (734) 941-8400.
