Seasonal celebration

8th Annual Fall Festival set for next weekend at Maybury Farm

The 8th Great Fall Festival will take place next weekend at Maybury Farm.

The festival will take place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 9 and 10 at the working farm located on Eight Mile Road in Northville.

Organizers said the Great Fall Festival is the most popular event of the fall at the farm  and will feature a wide variety of activities including fall-themed games, pumpkin decorating, beeswax candle making, face painting, live music, food trucks, BBQ, and more.  In addition to the many games and activities, guests can also enjoy visiting the farm animals, watching educational and animal demonstrations on the second stage, and roasting S'mores around the bonfire.

A variety of refreshments, including cider and donuts, Kettle Corn, PizzaPazza Wood Fired Pizza, Bearclaw Coffee Co, Kona Ice, and BBQ will be available for purchase.   Bridge County Bluegrass Band will perform at noon and again at 3 p.m. on Saturday and  King Possum, a country folk band, will perform at the same times on Sunday.

Entry to the festival, which includes admission to the farm and animal barns, is $9 per person. An additional wagon ride is available for an additional $3. There are also some special activities where tickets will be needed. As always, admission for children under the age of 2 is free.

Reservations are not required nor are masks as the activities are outdoors but masks are recommended when in the General Store and the barn to comply with COVID health restrictions. Any changes will be posted at www.mayburyfarm.org.

Sponsors of the Great Fall Festival include Tom Holzer Ford, Community Financial Credit Union, Northville Chamber of Commerce, and Nicole's Cleaning.
